Who Should Volunteer?

Infant and Early Childhood Conference (IECC) appreciates and thrives on its continuing support of returning volunteers and eagerly welcomes all newcomers. Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds as well as from all areas of Washington State. Parents, professionals, students, and members of the community are all invited and encouraged to volunteer in the onsite planning, preparation, and presentation of the conference.

Student Volunteers

Students at colleges and universities who are willing to volunteer five (5) hours of their time at this conference may earn a complimentary registration for up to three days at the conference. Meals are NOT included in this pricing discount. Click on student volunteers for more details and the steps to register. This is a different process than for other volunteers.

What Ways Can Volunteers Help?

Volunteers at IECC have the following opportunities:

Session Assistants

Session assistants help presenters in the sessions they are registered for and hand out session materials, distribute and collect sign-in sheets and conference evaluations.

During the conference

  • Assist at the Registration Counter
  • Hand out conference packets and materials
  • Answer general conference questions
  • Collect and tally information gathered from evaluations

How Much Time Do Volunteers Need to Give?

Volunteers may choose to donate time either before or during the conference. Volunteers are generally asked to commit to a two-hour block of time or the amount designated to the session you are registered for. We appreciate your assistance and make every attempt to accommodate your choices.

Why Should I Volunteer?

The Infant and Early Childhood Conference provides opportunities for many valuable experiences. It makes the conference run smoothly when many people give their energy and their talents. Volunteering at the conference allows for added opportunities to network with colleagues, speakers, and future employers, and is a strong skill to display on a resume. We are looking forward to meeting you at the conference!
